The Speedster Difference
While the established models have set the bar for versatility, the new Lago 26 Speedster represents a refined evolution—a dedicated "daysailer" designed to combine high-performance sailing with effortless handling. By adopting the proven hull shape of the Lago 26 series and applying a complete redesign of the deck and rig, the Speedster achieves a level of performance that challenges much larger boats. It features a flat, clean deck layout, a super-lightweight carbon fiber mast positioned further aft, and a high-performance lifting keel.
Why the Speedster is the Perfect Fit for the Netherlands
The Dutch sailing scene is often populated by heavy, displacement-heavy cruisers that are cumbersome to handle and slow to respond. The Lago 26 Speedster is the definitive antidote to this. With a total weight of under 1,000kg—significantly lighter than many local competitors—it is designed to accelerate instantly, even in light winds.
Equipped with a self-tacking jib, halyards led back to the cockpit, and an innovative E-Pod electric motor, it allows a single sailor to achieve high speeds without the need for a full crew. It is efficient, environmentally conscious, and, most importantly, incredibly fun to sail. The LAGO 26 Speedster RS is a crew-oriented regatta boat based on the LAGO 26 platform.
While the Speedster 26 was developed for single-handed sailing, the RS pursues a fundamentally different performance concept.
A higher rig, a retractable bowsprit, trapezes and a lighter keel characterize the RS configuration.
